“Mota-Engil Angola, Parque Expo and Visabeira Angola are partners in a development project related to infrastructures in the Angolan province of Benguela. The alliance of three companies seeks to articulate several infrastructures with essential functions, “such as the port, airport and railway, making this province a development and internationalisation platform of the Angolan economy,” said the managing director of Visabeira Angola, Gil da Silva, in a interview to the Angolan newspaper “O País”. The development of the region through the promotion of investment is the main objective of this project. Therefore, the director of Visabeira guarantees that “we must rely on infrastructure, energy production, dry ports, some land communication routes, industrial development poles and also housing,” he explains. Projects in which Visabeira already has skills, particularly in the telecommunications. The company is responsible for the infrastructure of the Angolan pay-TV. Visabeira has already invested in TV Cabo Angola about 50 million euros, of which some 15 million were invested in connections of Benguela/Lobito. TV Cabo will continue to invest, especially in the expansion of fiber optic network in Luanda, Benguela and Lobito. Investing in electricity networks is another goal.”
